MEET CARINA

Carina from Serve Again Foundation

Every motivated athlete deserves a chance to stay in the game.

Hi, I'm Carina Kothari, a competitive tennis player and the founder of Serve Again Foundation.

I started Serve Again Foundation because I saw a gap that did not make sense. Tennis has shaped my confidence, discipline, resilience, and love for competition. At the same time, I saw usable racquets sitting unused while motivated young athletes did not always have the equipment, coaching, or guidance they needed to keep growing in the sport.

Serve Again Foundation was built to help change that.

We are not just redistributing racquets. We are creating a pathway. Through a thoughtful application and intake process, we learn about selected participants' tennis experience, goals, practice habits, and areas for growth. This helps us create curated clinics that are more personal, practical, and meaningful.

Through these clinics, athletes receive personalized guidance, tennis-specific conditioning, injury-prevention education, match play, and competitive development. Beyond the clinic, we help connect them to coaches, programs, tournaments, and local opportunities so they can continue developing long after the clinic ends.

Our mission is to build a sustainable cycle of access, development, and opportunity, where one racquet can create lasting impact.

🎾 Game. Set. Give.

Serve Again Foundation is a youth-led nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to tennis by giving racquets a second life and helping young athletes build a stronger foundation in the sport.

We collect gently used tennis racquets, refurbish them, and provide them to athletes who may not otherwise have access to the equipment they need. But our work does not stop there.

Through an application and intake process, we learn about selected participants' tennis experience, goals, practice habits, and areas for growth. This helps us create clinics that are more personal and useful, instead of one-size-fits-all.

Through Serve Again clinics, participants receive coaching, fitness training, injury-prevention guidance, match-play experience, and support in understanding how to continue developing as tennis players. We also help connect athletes with local coaches, programs, tournaments, and playing opportunities so that their involvement in tennis can continue beyond a single event.

By giving racquets a second life, we reduce waste and promote sustainability. By giving athletes access to equipment, coaching, and guidance, we help build confidence, create opportunities, and foster long-term growth.

At Serve Again, a racquet is not just donated. It is served again with purpose.

🎾 Our Pathway

Serve Again Foundation is built around a simple idea: access should lead to opportunity.

  • Equipment Access. We collect and refurbish gently used racquets so athletes have the tools they need to participate.

  • Thoughtful Intake. Through an application process, we learn about selected participants' experience, goals, practice habits, and areas for growth.

  • Skill Development. Through curated clinics, athletes receive training on fundamentals, footwork, fitness, and match play.

  • Injury Prevention. Participants learn proper warm-ups, tennis-specific conditioning habits, and safe training practices to help them stay healthy.

  • Competitive Growth. We introduce athletes to the mental and physical habits of competitive tennis, including practice structure, match play, and tournament readiness.

  • Long-Term Connection. We help connect participants with coaches, local programs, and tournament opportunities so their tennis journey can continue.

🎾 Our Mission

Serve Again Foundation expands access to tennis by giving racquets a second life and creating curated clinics for selected young athletes who want to keep growing in the sport.

Through a thoughtful application and intake process, we learn about each participant's tennis experience, goals, practice habits, and areas for growth. This allows us to design clinics that are more personal, practical, and meaningful.

Our clinics combine coaching focused on technical and fitness, injury-prevention education, match play, and guidance on future tennis opportunities. Our goal is to provide more than equipment. We want to help athletes build confidence, improve safely, connect with coaches and programs, and continue developing long after the clinic ends.

🎾 What We Believe

  • Access should be meaningful. Getting a racquet is an important first step, but young athletes also need coaching, encouragement, and opportunities to keep playing.
  • Support should be personal. Every athlete has different goals, experiences, and areas for growth. Through our application and intake process, we try to understand selected participants before designing each clinic.
  • Development matters. Our clinics focus on skill development, fitness, injury prevention, and match play, so participants can become stronger and more confident athletes.
  • Tennis can build the whole person. Tennis teaches discipline, focus, resilience, confidence, and problem-solving both on and off the court.
  • Sustainability creates opportunity. A racquet that is no longer being used can still have a second life and help another athlete begin or continue their tennis journey.
  • Impact should continue after the clinic. We believe real service does not end when the event ends. We want to help athletes stay connected to coaches, programs, tournaments, and future playing opportunities.

🎾 Impact Goals

In our first year, Serve Again Foundation is working to:

  • Collect, refurbish, and distribute gently used racquets to athletes with limited access to equipment.
  • Use an application and intake process to understand each selected participant's tennis background, goals, practice habits, and needs.
  • Design and run clinics that combine tennis instruction, conditioning, injury-prevention education, and match play.
  • Help participants understand how to practice, improve, train safely, and compete more effectively.
  • Connect athletes with local coaches, tennis programs, tournaments, and playing opportunities.
  • Complete follow-up check-ins after clinics to see whether participants are continuing to play and develop.
  • Build a sustainable donation and clinic model that can grow over time.

🎾 Early Impact

In our first year, Serve Again Foundation is tracking:

  • Racquets collected and refurbished
  • Athletes selected for clinics
  • Clinics completed
  • Coaches and volunteers involved
  • Participants connected to local programs or tournaments
  • Three- and six-month follow-up results

DONATE

Turn unused equipment into opportunity.

At Serve Again Foundation, every donation directly supports both access and development. We pair refurbished racquets with structured programming designed to help young athletes grow in the sport and beyond it. Your support does more than provide equipment. It builds confidence, discipline, and leadership.

🎾 What Your Donation Supports

A racquet is just the beginning.

Your donation helps support:

  • Collecting, refurbishing, and distributing gently used racquets.
  • Creating curated clinics based on participant applications, goals, experience, and areas for growth.
  • Tennis instruction focused on fundamentals, footwork, consistency, and match play.
  • Fitness and conditioning activities that help athletes train safely and build strength.
  • Injury-prevention education helps participants understand how to protect their bodies.
  • Competitive development for athletes who want to improve their practice habits and prepare for match play or tournaments.
  • Guidance on how to keep practicing, find coaching, and explore local tennis opportunities.
  • Follow-up check-ins to understand whether participants are continuing to play, improve, and stay connected to the sport.

We do not believe in one-time impact.

We believe in creating pathways that help young athletes stay in the game.
